The Newcastle City Centre Committee engaged Village Well to develop a strategic positioning statement and branding strategy to inform its future planning and communications for Newcastle City Centre.
The purpose of the project was to:
- Develop a mother brand for the city centre as broad precinct (City East and City West)
- Articulate how the brand might work over the length of Newcastle City Centre and within three broad areas within which the city is currently planning (which have been identified as the New Business Precinct, Cultural/Civic/University Precinct and the Tourism/Residential/Retail and Heritage Precincts, Newcastle City Centre Renewal Report, Hunter Development Corporation May 2009)
The outcome of the project was the successful creation of Newcastle as a new, CBD, retail destination.
