The Woodville Village Masterplan Placemaking Roadmap was developed in response to significant changes planned for the Woodville area. Changes including the redevelopment of the Cheltenham Park Racecourse and neighboring industrial sites; the electrification of the rail line and the 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide designation of Woodville as a significant Transit Oriented Development (TOD).
Charles Sturt City Council and the Land Management Corporation (LMC) understood that a strategic placemaking approach was needed to lead the revitalisation of the Woodville area including the development of a hub masterplan for Woodville Village.
Village Well was engaged by The City of Charles Sturt and LMC to provide placemaking recommendations for the revitalisation of Woodville Road, to inform the Woodville Village Masterplan.
Village Well facilitated a series of workshops involving elected members, stakeholders and community members of Woodville. Outcomes of the engagement process informed the articulation of a shared vision for Woodville Village and specific recommendations for improving the area. The Placemaking Roadmap produced by Village Well informed the Woodville Village Masterplan, identifying significant projects and recommendations.
Both government and individual landowners are being guided by this long-term vision for the development of Woodville Village and connecting areas.
